Making these fairy cupcakes was so much fun. Was really great way to use my fairy mold. My mind has been working on other ideas on how to use it.

The fairies on these cupcakes were made of white chocolate. Almost didn’t have enough for the cupcakes as I just had to test them out.

A story of the origin of fairies appears in a chapter about Peter Pan in J. M. Barrie‘s 1902 novel The Little White Bird, and was incorporated into his later works about the character. Barrie wrote, “When the first baby laughed for the first time, his laugh broke into a million pieces, and they all went skipping about. That was the beginning of fairies.”

I just got a new fairy mold and of course had to try it out. I can imagine a lot of cakes with this one them.

Can’t wait to paint them.

When Claudius found out about this, he had Valentine arrested and thrown in jail. In an embellishment to The Golden Legend provided by American Greetings, Inc. to History.com and widely repeated, on the evening before Valentine was to be executed, he wrote the first “Valentine” himself, addressed to a young girl variously identified as his beloved, as the jailer’s daughter whome he had befriended and healed, or both. It was a note that read “From your Valenine.”

In ancient days, fathers would offer daughters as peace offerings to warring tribes. Because of the hostility, the families were placed on opposite sides of the church so the ceremony could go on without bloodshed. The ceremony united the two warring factions into on family, and danger of war was resolved.
